Weekend Highlights
Over this long weekend, we’ll guide you on a journey to discover the region, blending nature, relaxation, and the essence of Umbria’s local products!
EXPLORING THE TREASURES OF ALTOLINA
Difficulty: E; Elevation gain: 300 m; Distance: 4 km.
The journey begins in the small village of Pale, nestled in the Foligno area. The trail leads to the Benedictine Hermitage of Santa Maria Giacobbe, reached via a steep but manageable staircase featuring a Stations of the Cross. Built around the 1200s to honor Maria Jacobi, the hermitage is a breathtaking destination, with remarkable frescoes inside. After descending the staircase, the route loops back through Pale via the “Nature Trail,” showcasing stunning waterfalls created by the Menotre River, a Roman aqueduct, and remnants of an ancient paper mill. For a complete experience, you can also visit the Abbadessa Caves (by reservation).
Cap off your day with a short drive to Rasiglia, the “Village of Streams,” where charming homes are surrounded by water.
MURDER MYSTERY DINNER
Dive into a thrilling murder mystery game during dinner at Castello di Pupaggi, a venue steeped in history and legends like that of the Bella Pupa. The evening unfolds with police reports and clues on your table, with the pace of the meal syncing with the investigation. A commissioner leads the game, answering questions and providing hints—but not all clues will come easily!

Visit Spello and Collepino, two villages rich in historical and artistic heritage.
End the hike with an olive oil tasting, sampling Spello’s finest produce at a local farm.
