Poggiovalle is located in Umbria, near Città della Pieve, overlooking the Tuscan hills. It is a place where time flows slowly, allowing you to rediscover the joy of walking in nature, connecting with animals, and savoring traditional flavors—an experience that will stay with you for a long time. You can stay in self-contained houses, each with its own private garden, situated in two ancient villages immersed in the nature between Umbria and Tuscany.
THE GLASS OF PIEGARO AND THE HIGH NESTORE VALLEY BY BIKE: Transfer to Piegaro, a small Umbrian town that holds great treasures. In addition to its charming historic center, we offer a visit to the glass museum, a true Umbrian Murano! We will engage in a fun and creative glass fusion workshop. With this technique, we can create stained glass, decorative items, and jewelry, starting with clear glass and layering various colors to achieve a single object with contrasting hues. Afterward, we’ll hop on our e-bikes for a ride through the woods of the High Nestore Valley. Creativity and movement… perfect! Return to the accommodation for dinner.
NATURAL DYEING AND TRANSMINO TREK: Today we will focus on dyeing with plants: leaves, roots, fruits, and flowers will help us color wool, cotton, silk, or linen, creating a handmade item to take home. At a farmhouse near Lake Trasimeno, Elena will teach us the process, materials, dosages, and timing, along with the dye plants for this fun workshop. Afterward, we will stretch our legs with an easy and short trek around Lake Trasimeno, a protected area of the Natura 2000 network and a site rich in history and biodiversity. Return to the accommodation for dinner.

ORVIETO AND THE ALVIANO OASIS: The WWF Oasis of Lake Alviano encompasses all the typical environments of freshwater wetlands: marshes, ponds, swamps, and hygrophilous woods, and with its 900 hectares, it is one of the most important protected wetlands in central Italy. Thanks to the diversity of environments, we find many species of birds throughout the year, both migratory and resident, including herons, marsh harriers, kingfishers, spoonbills, great crested grebes, and numerous species of ducks. With binoculars in hand, we’ll venture into the Reserve, taking advantage of the observation huts for silent watching of the rich nature surrounding us. Afterward, we will explore the city of Orvieto, an Etruscan town perched on a tuff cliff. We will visit the beautiful underground city, guided by a local expert, and we won’t miss the incredible hydraulic work of the St. Patrick’s Well and the magnificent Cathedral with its timeless charm.
