Il Cerreto Farmhouse is a green oasis, a place where you can recharge while breathing the pure air of the Umbrian countryside and enjoying the breathtaking landscapes typical of the region. Located halfway between Perugia and Assisi, the agriturismo allows you to easily visit some of Umbria’s most fascinating art cities, making every day trip a cultural adventure. With its historic buildings and a tradition that resonates in every corner, spending time at Il Cerreto Agriturismo means immersing yourself in the true essence of Italian rural life.
During this long weekend, we will guide you in discovering the region through the world of e-bikes, perfect for those who want to try a new experience and be guided by an expert on how to tackle a cycling tour.
BIKE ANATOMY: Arrival and check-in. Introduction to the group and the features of the bike: how does a bike work, and how does an e-bike function? Learn how to handle basic mechanical issues and become self-sufficient. We’ll evaluate bike measurements, frame geometries, and tire types.
First bike ride around the agriturismo, heading towards the protected area of Collemancio. We’ll reach the summit to enjoy magnificent views over the Umbrian valley. Along the way, we’ll experience all types of terrain: asphalt, trails, gravel, climbs, descents, and flat sections—a little bit of everything. Return to the agriturismo and dinner.
MAMMOTH RIDE – Tour of Lake Pietrafitta:
The route unfolds over the hills surrounding Lake Pietrafitta in the Municipality of Piegaro. It’s a journey into history—prehistoric history! The lake was formed during lignite excavations for a power plant, and during the work, extraordinary and perfectly preserved fossils were discovered.
At the end of the ride, we’ll visit the Pietrafitta Paleontology Museum. Return to the agriturismo and dinner.
RIDE from Bettona along the cycling path to Assisi via Cannara:
A ride toward Montefalco, with a visit to the town, followed by a wine-tasting lunch at the Caprai winery. Afterwards, we’ll pass through the historic center of Bevagna, with its medieval workshops. Here, we’ll pause to visit the town’s Roman ruins and artisan shops. Return to the agriturismo and dinner. After dinner, we’ll have a basic first aid workshop.
LOOP RIDE from the agriturismo to the pre-Martani mountains:
This route takes us from Bettona to Monte le Cinque Querce, the protected archaeological area of Collemancio, and back to Bettona. It’s a moderately challenging route with some climbs that will test us, mixed terrain, and stunning views of the Umbrian Valley. Riding through rolling hills on dirt roads and asphalt, we’ll make our way back to the agriturismo for lunch. Farewell and see you on the next cycling adventure!
