Agriturismo Nestore is strategically located to let you experience the Umbrian countryside while easily exploring the surrounding area. The agriturismo sits on a flat plain along the Tiber River, which here retains much of its natural charm. It offers extensive outdoor space with a large shaded park, as well as indoor spaces, including communal areas and rooms used for family-friendly workshops.
ART IN THE GARDEN at Bufalini Castle, a beautifully preserved 16th-century monument with authentic furnishings. The tour focuses on the plants depicted in the castle’s frescoes, providing an interactive experience with games and close observation. Following this, we explore the Italian-style garden to observe the real-life versions of these plants, featuring a maze, a “ragnaia” (bird-catching area), hidden garden, and ancient orchard. At the end, enjoy a wonderful workshop to make a rose balm to take home – a real treat for the skin for all ages! A culturally and botanically enriching visit, sharing the art and history of the region.

ALL ON BIKES! Transfer to Città di Castello for an exciting team scavenger hunt through the city, searching for interesting details and curiosities in the historic center. Divided into teams with a game booklet, we’ll hunt for architectural details, plaques, and monuments with unique stories and forms. After the awards ceremony and a refreshment break, we’ll hop on our bikes and head back to Nestore, following a mostly flat route, gently descending toward the sea! We’ll follow the Tiber along a scenic, shaded white-road bike path, closed to traffic, with the river by our side. It’s common to spot characteristic birds like herons, egrets, and night herons amidst the typical riverside flora under poplars, willows, alders, and locust trees. We’ll also stop at the Malakos Museum, home to Europe’s largest private malacological collection, with over 650,000 specimens, shells of all shapes and sizes from around the world. Return to the agriturismo for rest.
CANOEING ON THE TIBER: A half-day immersed in the Tiber’s natural environment, where the river becomes broad and beautiful, surrounded by lush riparian vegetation and home to typical bird species such as herons, egrets, and ducks. From Città di Castello, we’ll paddle upstream about 3 km with an expert guide and all necessary equipment. Two- and three-person canoes are available, and you’ll find it’s an activity that’s not only sporty but also great for teamwork – and tons of fun! The return trip is a relaxing ride with the current.
Back to the agriturismo, and in the afternoon, a cooking class to make Umbrian tozzetti biscuits for breakfast.

THE PIETRALUNGA FOREST AND THE EDUCATIONAL FARM: We head to Pietralunga, a “mountainous” area on the other side of the valley, for a truly unique nature experience! We’ll enjoy a guided walk to learn about the local wildlife and the animals that inhabit this part of the Apennines. Walking through a forest with centuries-old trees, we’ll see stunning natural sights. On our return, we’ll visit a farm to meet the resident animals – two-legged, four-legged, winged, horned; black, white, spotted… Organic lunch back at the agriturismo and end of services.
