Our location is in the heart of Umbria, between Perugia and Assisi, within our family-run farm, surrounded by fields of sunflowers, corn, and wheat. We enjoy a magnificent view of the historic part of Perugia and are close to the medieval village of Torgiano, known as the “City of Wine.” This long weekend, we’ll guide you through the enchanting Umbrian countryside!

THE FANTASTIC TRAIL OF MONTE MALBE
Difficulty: Easy; Distance: 3 km.
This loop trail is ideal for families and anyone eager to enjoy the pleasures of discovery and wonder through a gentle walk! The trail begins at Podere Campore di Sopra and partly overlaps with itinerary no. 4 “Campore,” one of the scenic routes within Monte Malbe. Along the way, we’ll visit several enchanting spots: the Elves’ Hollow, the Witches’ Glade, the Orcs’ Territory, the Gnomes’ Village, and the Fairies’ Castle. This trail can be explored independently or with a guide.

  • ELVES’ HOLLOW: Tiny houses sit on ancient tree trunks in a small glade.
  • WITCHES’ GLADE: A clearing at the forest edge, featuring a “magic circle” of twelve large stones and four thrones carved from tree trunks.
  • ORCS’ TERRITORY: A towering oak tree marks the beginning of the Orcs’ Territory. Soon after, you’ll find the “Orcs’ Storehouse,” a small wooden hut displaying woodland artifacts like animal traces, nests, and various natural curiosities visible through glass slits. The trail continues to the Orcs’ Village, a wooden structure nestled among rocks. The exit from their territory is marked by an ancient tree with a split trunk.
  • GNOMES’ VILLAGE: Composed of about ten tiny wooden houses, a shared storehouse, a mine, and a wood shed, all in gnome-size for the enjoyment of visitors. Access is via a path along the “Apple Tree Grove.”
  • FAIRIES’ CASTLE: Situated on a small promontory, this fairies’ dwelling is built against an old tree trunk, with visible rooms like bedrooms, a music room, dining room, and bathrooms through small windows.

After the hike, we recommend visiting Perugia’s historic center to admire its artistic and cultural treasures, and maybe find a chocolate patisserie to recharge with a sweet treat! Arrival at the accommodation and check-in.
