The “Fattoria dei Comignoli” is a charming agritourism venue located in the heart of Umbria, within the municipality of Perugia, along the “Wine Route of the Canticle,” on the ridges of hills painted by Perugino in his youth. Guests are welcomed in beautiful homes dating back to the mid-1600s.
The “I Comignoli” house was originally an old oil mill, known as “di Pascuccio,” built around the 1600s. It has since been restored while preserving as much of the original materials as possible. The “I Lecci” house, dated between 1400 and 1600, was once the cellar and storerooms of “Palazzo Neri,” as documented in the first Pontifical Land Registry of 1726. This property has undergone careful restoration using the same principles.
Located just 8 km from Perugia, the Fattoria dei Comignoli sits along the “Wine Route of the Canticle,” on the crest of the Hill of the Seven Saints (San Costanzo, San Vetturino, San Fortunato, San Martino, S. Enea, Sant’Elena, San Valentino). From here, it offers stunning views: to the east, the Tiber Valley stretches from Assisi to Todi, while to the west, the “Road of the Seven Valleys” descends gently from Perugia to Città della Pieve, the birthplace of Perugino.
In this extended weekend, we will guide you in exploring the region and its treasures with many exciting activities!
CYCLING ALONG THE TEVEREANSA TRAIL
A fun and accessible bike ride along the cycling path that runs alongside the Tiber River, part of a community-interest site, including a visit to the Ecomuseum. We will drive to Ponte San Giovanni to begin the bike tour.
The Tiber River has played a decisive role in the development of the peoples of central Italy in ancient times. For centuries, its waters were the site of cultural exchanges, trade, conflicts, and meetings between different civilizations.
Established in March 2004 after dedicated efforts, the Tiber River Ecomuseum is a unique sociocultural, economic, and tourism project. It serves as a dynamic laboratory for reviving traditions, old crafts, underutilized local and cultural resources, historical and artistic heritage, old industrial sites, intangible heritage, and the breathtaking landscapes of the Tiber.

The river is lined with riparian vegetation, including white willow and black alder, with trees on both banks forming a tunnel-like canopy in some areas. Submerged plants of significant natural interest add to the area’s charm.
Rafting along the Nera offers a unique perspective of the park and an exhilarating adventure, even for beginners. The Marmore Waterfalls provide an ideal spot to experience this activity, with expert guides and all necessary equipment provided.
