ALONG THE TIBER
The cycling route along the Tiber, which runs from San Giustino to the Alviano Oasis, is one of the main excursion paths in the region. It features a traffic-free cycle path, with a few brief sections on secondary roads, perfect for enjoying the beautiful natural views that the Tiber offers. The route is not technical and can be navigated with MTB or trekking bikes, whether muscular or electric. There are no particular difficulties, as the itinerary runs practically without elevation changes on dirt roads. It’s not uncommon to spot characteristic birdlife such as herons, egrets, and night herons in a natural setting with typical riparian flora, in the shade of poplars, willows, alders, and black locust trees. At the end or beginning of the cycle path, a visit or a break in Città di Castello is recommended

TREK AND TASTE
Those who go to the mill get flour on them! This trek above San Giustino follows the ridges of the high hills, offering breathtaking views of the Tiber valley. The route alternates between meadows and woods and is characterized by the presence of ditches and streams. Rich in wildlife, it is interesting in spring for the blooming of orchids, while in autumn it offers beautiful colors that contrast with the light-colored marl and sandstone. Along the route, we stop at an ancient medieval mill, which is fully operational and will guide us into the world of flour and grain milling, culminating in a tasting of many delicacies.

A WALK WITH THE DOG
A day dedicated to truffle hunting with a dog, discovering a deeply rooted and professional activity. Visit Monte Santa Maria, a small medieval center of great charm where time seems to have stopped. In the grounds of a local farmhouse, we are greeted by our four-legged friend and the truffle hunter for an easy walk in search of black gold: the truffle! Along the way, we will uncover the secrets and virtues of this precious underground fungus, known for its unmistakable aroma and added value to many local dishes. Our walk will not only focus on the truffle; we will also learn about the dog that guides us! How to train it? Which breeds are best suited? Does it enjoy searching for truffles with us? At the end, we will taste truffles on homemade tagliatelle in the farmhouse.
