FARM ACTIVITIES: THE HERB WORKSHOP
This fragrant workshop will introduce us to medicinal and aromatic plants, uncovering their secrets, uses, and properties. We’ll use parts of these plants to make soaps and scented sachets to bring natural aromas into our homes.
Afternoon: DUNAROBBA AND THE FARNETTA WOODS. A scenic medium-difficulty hike through gentle hills formed by clayey lake deposits. The highlight of this area is the Farnetto oak (Quercus frainetto), which gives its name to the small village of Farnetta. These woods have defined the landscape since the early Middle Ages.
The area is renowned for its paleobotanical value, featuring the Dunarobba Fossil Forest, a unique site with about 50 fossilized conifer trunks from the Taxodiaceae family. These remnants are a testament to forests that once lined the shores of ancient Lake Tiberino. A guided visit to this natural monument of global scientific importance offers a fascinating journey into Earth’s distant past.
TREASURE HUNT IN PERUGIA.
A modern treasure hunt filled with puzzles, riddles, and skill games. Participants, grouped into teams, navigate the medieval-themed game using maps and clues to explore the city.
The story begins in 1307:
“On October 13, 1307, by order of King Philip the Fair of France, all Templars in France were arrested in a single night—a simultaneous raid planned in secret for months, as described by Regine Pernoud. It was followed by a smear campaign and hopeless trials, leading to the abrupt dissolution of the Templar Order.”
To help Knight Michele recover an important document, the Chinon Parchment, and clear the Templar Order of false accusations, players will explore Perugia’s historic center, including the Rocca Paolina and Piazza IV Novembre.
After the activity: A self-guided tour of Perugia’s charming streets is recommended.
