BETWEEN THE VILLAGES OF SPELLO AND COLLEPINO
Arrival at the property and accommodation. Transfer by car to Spello for the excursion. Difficulty: E; Elevation gain: 200 m; Distance: 5 km. This easy itinerary follows an ancient Roman aqueduct, connecting the villages of Spello and Collepino at the foot of Mount Subasio. Along the route, you can admire the colorful olive landscapes and the scents of the wild flora of central Umbria, while breathing in some fresh air. The ancient structure winds along the Chiona stream, and the trail follows it entirely. Dating back to Roman times, the aqueduct supplied water to Spello until the late 1800s. Maintenance over the centuries has adapted the structure, yet it still retains original sections. The path includes underground portions and segments constructed with local white and pink limestone. On the valley side of the conduit are numerous rectangular openings for inspection and air vents. The covering, occasionally exposed, is made of slabs arranged “cappuccina” style. In one stretch, the structure even serves as a support for the main road connecting Collepino and Spello.

During this enjoyable and scenic hike, you’ll visit Spello and Collepino, two charming villages rich in Umbrian historical and artistic heritage.

THE MONTE TEZIO LOOP
Difficulty: E; Elevation gain: 450 m; Distance: 10 km. Arrival at the property and accommodation. Drive to the starting point along S.P. 170 to Colle Umberto (north of Perugia), where, after passing through the village, a right turn leads to Monte Tezio Park. Leave your car near the park entrance gate (there is also a large parking lot nearby) and continue up a wide dirt road to a small refuge (an information center). This is the start and end point of the loop trail. This route is particularly relaxing as the view is constantly filled with enchanting vistas: first southward with views of peaceful Lake Trasimeno, then northward where the horizon extends to the distant Sibillini Mountains and Langa, with the closer peaks of Mount Acuto, Corona, and Subasio. The name “Tezio” comes from the ancient Etruscans, who used to worship the goddess Teti at the base of the mountain along this very trail.

Saturday

BIKING & BEER
Discover the surrounding area with a guided e-bike excursion toward Mount Maggio (1361 m) and Mount Nero (1413 m). This area lies on the border with the Marche Region, covering the municipalities of Gualdo Tadino and Nocera Umbra, spanning about 1,563 hectares. This community site features rocky cliffs and vast plateaus on the summits with hypogean caves and gorges. We’ll reach the top on our two-wheeled companions, where we’ll be rewarded with a stunning view over the valley. The route is approximately 32 km with medium difficulty. After the ride, to replenish lost fluids, we’ll enjoy a craft beer tasting at the Flea brewery in Gualdo Tadino. The idea of producing high-quality craft beer originated in 2013 in Gualdo Tadino. The malts used are exclusively sourced from barley grown by the family’s own farm, allowing Flea Brewery to keep its production transparent and locally sourced.

We’ll end the day by visiting the medieval village of Nocera Umbra, known as the “city of water.” Its geographic location, with extensive mountains, hills, and water-rich valleys, has fostered human settlements here since prehistoric times. In 1986, stone artifacts dating back about 500,000 years were found, representing the area’s oldest known relics.

TREASURE HUNT IN PERUGIA
This activity includes all the elements of a modern treasure hunt with riddles, puzzles, and skill challenges. The game is set within a narrative framework where player-explorers, equipped with paper materials, are grouped into teams. They will explore the city, clue by clue, testing their historical knowledge, navigational skills, and problem-solving abilities. The hunt is managed by a coordinator, and participants are divided into teams. This specific treasure hunt in Perugia has a medieval setting.

“Everything happened very quickly: on October 13, 1307, by order of Philip the Fair, King of France, all the Templars in France were arrested. Overnight, a simultaneous raid secretly prepared for months – as Régine Pernoud states; it was preceded by a defamation campaign and followed by a hopeless trial. Thus, the Templar Order suddenly ceased to exist.” To help Knight Michele locate an important document, the Chinon Parchment, and exonerate the Templar Order from terrible accusations, you will explore the historic center of Perugia, including its fascinating underground passages.
Setting: Historic center – Rocca Paolina – Piazza IV Novembre. We’ll finish by finding a pastry and chocolate shop to indulge in the world’s most shared guilty pleasure: chocolate! End of services.
